Aardvark Announces A|WDM Drivers for Windows XP April 13, 2002
Aardvark introduces A|WDM (Aardvark Windows Driver Model), a new multi-client, low-latency driver for Windows XP and Windows 2000. This driver will provide support for Aardvark's Direct Pro Series of computer audio cards, which includes the popular Direct Pro Q10, as well as the Direct Pro 2496, LX6 and Aark 24 audio interfaces.
A|WDM is a proprietary driver model designed to integrate fully with Aardvark's DSP technology, allowing audio data to be transferred directly from the Aardvark audio card to the WDM, ASIO or MME software application. This represents an improvement over standard WDM drivers, as it allows the low-latency performance to be available to traditional MME software applications as well to ASIO and WDM applications.
A|WDM is particularly adept at providing the ultimate in stability and low-latency performance with SONAR achieving latencies as low as 1.5 ms with DXi and ReWire compatible soft-synths such as Tassman, DreamStation, Reaktor, and Rebirth. 'Real-time' input effects monitoring is handled easily by A|WDM, with very low CPU usage.
Full multi-client ASIO2 support is also provided in this driver release, giving Aardvark audio cards super low-latency performance in all Windows OS for the popular Steinberg Cubase/Nuendo, Logic Audio programs. The unique ASIO Turbo Mode and buffer slider enables latency performance down to as low as 4 ms with VST instruments and ASIO soft synths.
