Beta OS X Driver's for LynxTWO and L22 Cards Released May 18, 2003
Following months of development, the OSX driver for the LynxTWO and L22 192 kHz PCI interface reference audio cards is now available in a beta version from Lynx Studio Technology, Inc. The driver can be downloaded from the Lynx website at www.lynxstudio.com. The OSX driver offers extended functionality, such as the ability to install multiple Lynx cards in a Macintosh and to use more than one application simultaneously. The final OSX driver will be released summer 2003.
The Beta OSX driver allows audio recording and playback for either single multichannel or multiple stereo streams. This means that multichannel recording and playback is available, or the user can simultaneously play back multiple stereo streams. Features not available in the Beta version, which will be functional in the final version, include full software mixer control using the LynxTWO mixer utility, timecode and video genlock, LTC to MIDI time code conversion and firmware update support.
The LynxTWO and L22 192 kHz, 24-bit PCI digital audio reference cards have a powerful mixer utility program for Windows and Macintosh computers. The LynxTWO offers versatile synchronization, hardware mixing, and support a variety of multichannel formats including ADAT and AES/EBU.
